My First Painting!

I painted today! So, you all know I like to fiddle around with paints, but I never really knew what I was doing. I never tried very hard to paint anything real, because I was afraid that I would fail miserably. The things that I did try always turned out not very good. So, I basically swore off all mediums except for pencil. Pencil I could handle. BUT I have this amazing husband that does artsy things all the time and makes me want to be cool and creative like he is. He also has shown me tricks (inadvertently and on purpose) to help me to paint better and made me realize that it doesn't have to be perfect the first time you try.

So, without further ado, I give you the first painting of Lisa Sue Tapp:

Sorry for the low quality image. Still using my phone for a camera. But isn't it cool? It definitely has a lot of flaws (the fire should be lower, the edges cleaner, etc.), but that hand kinda looks like a hand! And that fire kinda looks like fire! Kinda... :) I'd say it's definitely an okay first ever painting. I'm so excited!

Thanks so much to Trevon for being my inspiration and for reawakening my artistic side. I'm so thankful to have him by my side forever :)

Almost a year and a half later...

Hey all! So, I basically am horrible at writing in my blog! This post is just gonna be a "off-the-top-of-my head" post to hopefully get me started on blogging again. Also, you'll have to excuse the poor quality of the pictures on this blog. I'm not exactly sure where my camera is, so I used my phone to take the pictures

Well, Trevon has been out of school for the past few weeks, and it has been wonderful! I get to spend lots of time with my awesome husband! One thing that I love lots about Trevon is that he is an artist. A few days ago, he made these:

They're made by melting wax in the mugs, then plunging them into coldish water. They look super cool! But these cool wax sculptures are not without price. This is wax on my kitchen floor:

And wax on my stove top:

Note: this is after cleaning up a huge wax spill. Luckily none of it got on the burners! All in all, I'd say it's worth it though... I like creativity in my life :)
