My First Painting!

I painted today! So, you all know I like to fiddle around with paints, but I never really knew what I was doing. I never tried very hard to paint anything real, because I was afraid that I would fail miserably. The things that I did try always turned out not very good. So, I basically swore off all mediums except for pencil. Pencil I could handle. BUT I have this amazing husband that does artsy things all the time and makes me want to be cool and creative like he is. He also has shown me tricks (inadvertently and on purpose) to help me to paint better and made me realize that it doesn't have to be perfect the first time you try.

So, without further ado, I give you the first painting of Lisa Sue Tapp:

Sorry for the low quality image. Still using my phone for a camera. But isn't it cool? It definitely has a lot of flaws (the fire should be lower, the edges cleaner, etc.), but that hand kinda looks like a hand! And that fire kinda looks like fire! Kinda... :) I'd say it's definitely an okay first ever painting. I'm so excited!

Thanks so much to Trevon for being my inspiration and for reawakening my artistic side. I'm so thankful to have him by my side forever :)

Almost a year and a half later...

Hey all! So, I basically am horrible at writing in my blog! This post is just gonna be a "off-the-top-of-my head" post to hopefully get me started on blogging again. Also, you'll have to excuse the poor quality of the pictures on this blog. I'm not exactly sure where my camera is, so I used my phone to take the pictures

Well, Trevon has been out of school for the past few weeks, and it has been wonderful! I get to spend lots of time with my awesome husband! One thing that I love lots about Trevon is that he is an artist. A few days ago, he made these:

They're made by melting wax in the mugs, then plunging them into coldish water. They look super cool! But these cool wax sculptures are not without price. This is wax on my kitchen floor:

And wax on my stove top:

Note: this is after cleaning up a huge wax spill. Luckily none of it got on the burners! All in all, I'd say it's worth it though... I like creativity in my life :)

Rock Climbing

First of all, here is a beautiful rainbow outside of mean' Devin's apartment in Montpelier. See the double rainbow on the right?

Then on to the rest of the entry! I went rock climbing with Amber and George and their cute kids! (I actually went twice, but I only got pictures of the first time.) It was tons of fun!

Here is a bunch of cuties in their sunglasses:

Dawn left hers in the car, so she's wearing mine :)

And here I am at the very top! And I actually got down afterward, which is hard for me...

Here's cute Lydia climbing. She liked to jump on the wall a lot better than she liked climbing tho.

And here's GeoDe! Look at how high he is! (The next time he went he went all the way to the top, but that is another story. A long story...) And George belaying. Thanks George!

And those are my rock climbing adventures! Well, more just pictures. Thanks for inviting me guys!!

Surprise!

So, I was cleaning my room today and organizing my closet, and this is what I found at the back of my closet:

I think I must have bought these potatoes last August.... Oops!

Snowboarding Adventures!...

For those of you who don't know, I am taking a snowboarding class this semester. It has been way fun, and for those of you who have never gone, it comes highly recommended. Just don't try to go over any jumps before you are ready to...

Yesterday, I was in my class, and my instructor took us to a jump. A couple of people didn't go on it, but I thought I'd try. My instructor gave us a few pointers, and told us to go ahead. I told him I was scared, and he said I'd be fine, so away I went. He had told us to keep up our speed, so I went as fast as I could towards the jump. I can remember taking off and thinking I was going to crash, but I don't remember why. Then I can remember them lowering me onto the sled, strapping me in (I couldn't move my head at all), covering me up with a blanket, and pulling me down the mountain. I can remember everything after that, and I'm fine. I have some bumps and bruises (The back of my left hip kills!), but nothing serious. Apparently it's called anterograde amnesia. I don't remember approximately 15 to 20 minutes. It was kind of a scary experience!

Create

I'm back! I'm about as good at writing in my blog as I am writing in my journal! ...hehehe... :S

So, I don't know if y'all know this, but I absolutely love to create. Creating things is my one true passion (at least that's what I'm thinking right now). So I thought I'd show you some of my creations. I took a ceramics class last semester, and these are a couple of things that came out of it:

And of course I can't talk about creating without mentioning knitting. Can I just tell you that I love knitting? It is so much fun! And I get to *create* things ;) Here is a scarf that I'm working on:

And here's a close-up of the stitches:

So there is an overview of what I create. I love it! So if you ever want me to make something for you, just give me a call! I'd be more than happy to help. Especially if what you want me to do is knit :)

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like CHRISTMAS!!

Hey everyone! I'm officially a blogger! And I got my tree all decorated! I'm super excited! It's the first time it's my very own Christmas tree and not the whole family's!
Here it is!
Beautiful, eh?

My roommate, Kristal, cut out snowflakes to put in our front room window. So this is our only outside decoration. I love it!
And this is my other contribution to the apartment's decoration. Isn't the angel beautiful?
That is the festivity of my apartment! This blog probably won't have much in it, but I hope you enjoy all the nothing that I'm gonna post! Merry Christmas!!
